Every piece in our Natural Dye line was coloured by hand — by artisans from the Amazon, using pigments drawn from plants, bark and earth. These colours are alive. They shift gently over time, as all natural things do. A little care preserves their beauty for years to come.
Caring for Your Natural Dye Pieces
Turn the garment inside out and wash cold, at 30 °C or below. Use a gentle, pH-neutral detergent with no bleach. Hand washing is ideal.
Lay the piece flat on a towel and let it air dry. No tumble dryer — heat can alter natural pigments.
Keep your Natural Dye pieces away from direct sunlight during storage. Natural pigments are more sensitive to light than synthetic dyes. When drying: choose shade.
Store flat and in darkness, ideally in a cotton bag. This keeps the tones vivid.
Every piece is unique. Subtle differences in colour between garments — even within a single piece — are not a flaw. They are the visible mark of something made entirely by hand.
Frequently Asked Questions
Natural dyes evolve. Over months and years, tones may soften gently — a natural process that gives each piece its own character. Cold washing and storing away from direct sunlight slows this process considerably.
Because every garment is dyed individually by hand. The artisans in the Amazon work with natural pigments that vary subtly by batch and season. No two pieces are alike — that is precisely what makes Natural Dye special.
We recommend washing Natural Dye pieces separately or with similar tones, particularly for the first two to three washes. Natural pigments may release minimal colour initially.
